‘Here we go again’ – Reddit reacts after Arsenal manager issues another big claim

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have heard this story one too many times before…

There is a definite need for change at Arsenal. The Gunners have seriously struggled this season, and look likely to miss out on a top-four finish – having fallen behind amidst the rising quality 0f the Premier League.

Indeed, it seems clear that the Gunners are several players short of being able to compete – and if Arsene Wenger is to be believed, it could have all been so different.

Speaking to beIN Sports, the Frenchman has revealed that Arsenal tried to sign Kylian Mbappe, a player that is attracting much of Europe at present, last season. Of course, Mbappe has enjoyed a breakout season this year – having been prolific for Monaco.

Unsurprisingly, this statement has generated a bit of anger amongst the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern, with many questioning why the Frenchman wasn’t able to get the deal done.
