‘He’s no Ronaldo or Messi’ – Man United fans on Twitter discuss star after Mourinho hint

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to some cryptic comments from their Portuguese tactician, Jose Mourinho. The former Real Madrid and Chelsea gaffer spoke about how at every level you need more than eleven players, although only eleven can start, leading many fans to believe he was talking about Anthony Martial as rumours have been linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.

The United fans propping our bar up will be happy enough with the way their team is playing at the moment. Despite last month’s embarrassing Champions League heartbreak at the hands of Sevilla, United are on track for a successful season. The club have pretty much guaranteed that they’ll be playing Champions League football next season and could even take a trophy home in the form of the FA Cup, although they’ll have to get past Spurs in a semi-final clash before facing either Chelsea or Southampton in the final.

For a while now though, the Red Devils have been complaining about their electric Frenchman Anthony Martial and his lack of game time. This season is the 22-year-old’s third at Old Trafford and he’s managed an impressive nine goals and five assists in the Premier League, despite only having completed 90 minutes four times in his 26 outings. The fans are becoming increasingly agitated and have been bombarding their club’s official Twitter account with demands to give the youngster a new contract as they want to see Martial stay in Manchester for the coming years.
