The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been starting to get their hopes up as they’ve been reading comments from Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, as the Welshman prepares to look for a move this summer. Bale hasn’t played enough football at The Bernabeu this season and has made it clear that he’s looking to leave Madrid.
Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett on the future of the Welsh player:
“He wants a better year than he had last year. He wants to play more, and that’s paramount to him.”
“For somebody like him, he has to play. It’s not about money.”

Just hearing the name Gareth Bale brings back memories of a number of superb goals from the Welshman for Spurs fans. The incredible winger has a portfolio of fantastic strikes from his Spurs days and every Tottenham fan you meet will have a favourite. From his hat-trick against Inter Milan to his free-kick against Lyon and then his last-gasp winner against West Ham, Bale never failed to put smiles on Spurs fans’ faces.
This summer could be one of the happiest of recent memory though as the Lilywhites could actually get their man back in North London. Daniel Levy succumbed to the money back in 2013 when he sold Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a fee in the region of around £90 million. He could be making a long-awaited return to the club after five years though if the winger really isn’t worried about money and is prepared to take a pay cut to return to Spurs.

As you can, the optimism among the Spurs fans in the Tavern is hight as they hope to get their man back in North London.
