Word has it a deal that would see Manchester City’s Robinho join Turkish club Besiktas is ninety nine percent done. A source that posted about Guti going to Turkey before the story broke reckons the deal is almost done.
Apparently Besiktas offered twenty million Euros a good week ago and have increased the offer, an offer which has been accepted.
No-one would be surprised to see Robinho leave Manchester. After a good start to his City career he’s really struggled. Then the big Brazlian baby spat his dummy out when he stopped being first choice. It’s hardly surprising he’s on the move when you consider it was Chelsea he actually wanted to sign for hours before he put pen to paper for City.
I would imagine few City fans would be disappointed to see him go. You know times have changed when City can quite happily let a £32.5m signing leave. The fact is they don’t really need an unhappy chappy, no matter how good he may be, with all the quality they’ve now got. They also need to seriously reduce the size of their squad to be ready for the new twenty five man squad regulation. And if they could recoup a good chunk of what they paid for him then that’s a bonus.
What surprises me most is that he’s not left for a top European club already. I would have thought a Juventus or a Milan may have come in with an offer for him. He was briefly linked to Barcelona but their focus was on Fabregas at the time.
I find it hard to believe he’s really going to Besiktas, but the source is pretty reliable. And considering the pandemonium Darius Vassell caused when he went to Turkey I think the district of Besiktas would go into complete meltdown should Robinho fly in.
