The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to prepare for a potential future without Mousa Dembele, and supporters on Twitter believe they’ve identified a perfect replacement for the Belgium international.
Mousa Dembele has been an ever-present rock at the heart of Tottenham’s midfield in recent years, but there is a growing feeling in North-London that he will depart the club this summer. At 30-years-of-age it’s likely that Dembele will fancy a new challenge after 8 years in London with Fulham and Tottenham respectively and, according to L’Equipe, Spurs have already begun planning for a post-Dembele era.
According to a recent report from the French media outlet, Tottenham have opened discussions with Lyon over the signing of Tanguy N’Dombele who is expected to sign for the club on a permanent deal following his loan spell from SC Amiens last season.
The 21-year-old midfielder was mightily impressive at the heart of Lyon’s midfield with his all-action displays and sporadic flashes of flair, and he seems to have earned plenty of admirers in North London if the reaction on Twitter is anything to go by.
In response to reports, the Lilywhites faithful were quick to call for Daniel Levy to finance the acquisition of the Ligue 1 talent this summer and suggest he is the perfect player to replace Dembele next season.
Here’s what the Tottenham fans have had to say about N’Dombele on Twitter following reports from France…

Keep the links with this man coming! Very exciting player with a huge amount of ability and potential. Would be over the moon if we got him

Bit harsh – This player has been tearing it up at Lyon and as seen as one of they key figureheads.
This would be a brilliant signing given the time to adapt to the Premier League and under Pochettino’s development he could take the player on even further forward.
