West Ham continue to look for players in this transfer window that will boost manager Manuel Pellegrini’s attacking options.
And having been linked with a host of attacking midfielders such as Javier Pastore, Felipe Anderson and most recently and even more surprisingly ex-Hammer Dimitri Payet (via the Guardian), the east London club could now turn their attention towards a striker.
According to Record, Benfica No.9 Haris Seferovic is on West Ham’s radar. The 26-year-old has a £52m release clause in his contract, although it is unlikely that his club will ask for a figure even remotely close to that.
Pellegrini could definitely do with a another centre-forward at the London Stadium. However, Seferovic, who is valued at £3.6m by Transfermarkt, may not be the man to help ease the goal burden off Marko Arnautovic’s shoulders.
While the Benfica striker’s goalscoring record at international level is decent, Seferovic has rarely ever scored more than five goals in a league season.
