Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have received a blow today, after it was revealed that a top-target has rejected the Reds advances.
The Daily Express state that Hoffenheim defender Nikolas Sule has rejected the advances of Jurgen Klopp’s side as he aims to continue earning regular action with Hoffenheim, as Liverpool cannot offer the same opportunities.
Klopp has already raided German football this summer for the signature of defender Joel Matip and goalkeeper Lorius Karius and Sule was stated to be another name on his short-list. However, the player told Bild he’s not eyeing an exit.
“Here I have my usual environment, the proximity to my family in Frankfurt. To develop myself, I need playing time and a coach who trusts me. I have that in Julian Nagelsmann. He knows me well and knows where and how he can make me better.”
Our landlord doesn’t feel this is too much of an issue for Liverpool, as he sees the door remaining open for a swoop in the future, but he doesn’t see Klopp’s defensive additions for the summer being complete.
