Highly-rated manager ready to join Chelsea next summer

Atletico MadridChelsea fans have spent the last few days in the Transfer Tavern gathered around a table and discussing reports to a new manager in hushed voices.

With the news that Guus Hiddink will take charge until the end of the season, following a successful FA Cup campaign in a similar spell at West London, the discussions have turned to who could come in next summer.

The Daily Mail says that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is keen on becoming Chelsea’s next permanent manager next summer, believing the fact he doesn’t talk English isn’t an issue.

Simeone is highly-rated from his successes in Madrid, where he led Atletico to the La Liga title in 2014, and Chelsea will have to pay a £15m release-clause to the Spanish giants.

The former Argentine international, infamous in England for his actions that led to David Beckham’s red card in the 1998 World Cup, is now rated as one of the best young managers in world football.

If Chelsea were to land the 45-year-old it would be a coup but Simeone wants assurances on the club’s transfer policy from Roman Abramovich, which he may not be given.

Chelsea fans, is Simeone the man you want in next summer? Let us know in the comments below!
