According to the BBC, Jordan Ayew looks set to leave Swansea City this summer, with Crystal Palace apparently keen on signing him.

Jordan Ayew was the Swans’ top scorer last season, with 11 strikes in all competitions. However, it wasn’t enough to keep the Welsh outfit in the Premier League, and following the club’s relegation, Ayew looks set to move on.

Crystal Palace are apparently interested in the 26-year-old, and he would be a smart signing for them. Other top flight sides must also have an eye on the wantaway Ghanaian.

Burnley would be wise to challenge the Eagles and offer the forward an alternative route back to the Premier League this summer.

The Breakdown

Burnley are currently preparing to welcome Europa League football to Turf Moor, following their remarkable Premier League campaign last time out. Despite the heavy schedule approaching though, the Clarets are yet to do any incoming business in this transfer window.

The signing of Ayew would be a great way for the club to kick start their summer whilst reinforcing their forward line.

Ayew’s presence would provide a different kind of option for Dyche to select from. Currently, Burnley’s 3 main centre-forward options, Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes and Sam Vokes are all big, powerful, target men. The addition of a diminutive, pacy and tricky forward such as Ayew could be transformative for the Clarets’ attack.

Transfermarkt value Ayew at £7.2 million. With the attacker keen to secure an exit from the Liberty Stadium, Burnley could perhaps even land the Ghana international for a bargain price.
