Lassana Diarra of Real Madrid has found first team football hard to come by this season after the arrival of Germany international Sami Khedira. He has made just 18 appearances in all competitions and has been linked with moves to clubs all over Europe.
Manchester United are said to be leading the chase for him and Liverpool and Tottenham have also stated their interest in the French star. A move out of Madrid could be this January as his contract is due to expire in the coming months. His agent said:
“His contract with Real Madrid expires in June, but will move as early as January. Diarra is considering several bids, even from Italy.”
It is understood that ‘Lass’ prefers a move to Manchester United but we all know how quickly things change in football. He didn’t quite make it in the premier league but his reputation in Spain has him labelled as one of the best holding midfielders in Europe currently so he will be a good signing for many teams.
He was even tipped to be the new Claude Makelele whilst in his teens and he has become a regular feature in the French set up.
Diarra’s exit out of Real Madrid looks imminent but the question is where? Maybe he’ll want to have a crack at Serie A or has he got something to prove back in England? A lot of English fans certainly have been impressed with his perfomances in La Liga and wish to see him back in the premier league once again.
