This feeling comes after their 15-year-old transfer target was advised by his international coach not to join the Premier League big boys just yet.
According to the Daily Mail, Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard has been linked to both Premier League sides and also Monaco but has been urged to resist a transfer by Norway’s national coach, Per-Mathias Högmo (pictured).
Odegaard became the youngest senior Norway international ever after making his debut against the United Emirates in August at an incredible 15-years-old.
Ever since breaking onto the international scene, he has attracted large amounts of attention.
It is reported that he has already been at Manchester United’s training ground and that his father has already met with United officials towards the end of last season, whilst Liverpool and Monaco continue to scout him.
But with his development in mind, the Stromsgodset midfielder has been told to set his sights on a mid-range club as he will be guaranteed more game time.
Högmo said: “He has already made his debut with the national team, but also at club level, he will have to take a step forward.
“He is a special talent, but it is not easy to say what would be the next best move. He has two choices.
“Whether he goes to a mid-range club that helps his development, such as Ajax, or he goes directly to an absolute top club.
“You can see that most players that take the second route don’t usually succeed.”
Odegaard continues to make a name for himself and he has been called up for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Malta this month.
