Liverpool and Huddersfield are well on course for contrasting finishes in the Premier League this term, as the Terriers battle relegation and the Reds look to cement a top four spot and even usurp Man United into second spot.
Here in the Tavern, there’s been plenty of banter between both sets of fans this season when they’ve come across each other, and our landlord has thoroughly enjoyed having some chat with them over a few cold beers.
One thing which is often brought up is the calibre of player both clubs possess, but one player who both sets of fans agree is a class above is midfielder Aaron Mooy.
Our landlord has been super impressed with the Australian this term, and he thinks he could be a shrewd signing for the Reds if Jurgen Klopp does decide to go out and strengthen his midfield options this summer.
Mooy has proved to be a classy operator on the whole, and Terriers manager David Wagner has built his entire midfield around the former Man City man as the Yorkshire club have made a valiant attempt at staying in the top flight.
A top player with the ball at his feet but not averse to putting in the hard yards when it matters, Mooy would be an excellent signing for the Anfield club, and could well be the ideal replacement for the potentially outgoing Emre Can.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
