After Tottenham’s display against Arsenal at The Emirates recently, we’ve been discussing the absence of Mousa Dembélé at the club.
The midfield pairing of Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko looked weak against an oppressive Gunners outfit, as they seemed to lack the composure on the ball that the Belgian has.
With that in mind, we asked whether you thought that Tottenham’s midfield is weak without Dembélé in the squad, and these were the results:
This is a telling sign of where Tottenham are at the moment, as a huge majority see the midfield as sub-par without the Belgian. Given the fact that Dembélé is heavily rumoured to be leaving the club in the near future, this could leave their midfield looking very barren next season if they fail to recruit new faces.
With the 80-cap Belgium international out injured currently, only Harry Winks looks to be the only man who looks as comfortable on the ball, and this could be a problem should teams adopt the same approach that Arsenal did.
