Manchester City supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side reach the Carabao Cup final after a hard-fought 5-3 aggregate victory over Bristol City, having won 3-2 at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s men needed a late Sergio Aguero strike in the first leg at the Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago to take a slender lead into their clash against Lee Johnson’s side on Tuesday, and they got the job done in an entertaining encounter earlier this week. Goals from Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne gave the Citizens a three-goal cushion with just 40 minutes of the game remaining, only for the hosts to hit back admirably through Marlon Pack and Aden Flint, although De Bruyne dashed their Wembley dreams with City’s third on the night late on.
Thus, there have been many delighted Citizens fans in the Tavern in the last few days, and they are likely to be further buoyed by recent comments from Guardiola in his pre-Cardiff City press conference (via the club’s official Twitter account), which details that defender Kyle Walker is fit for the clash on Sunday.
The 27-year-old was replaced five minutes from the end of normal time at Ashton Gate after sustaining a knock, which did somewhat throw into doubt whether he’d be fit for the trip to Cardiff on Sunday in the FA Cup, as well as their Premier League clash against West Brom on Wednesday night.
However, Citizens boss Guardiola has disclosed a huge boost by saying that the right-back is ‘fit to play’ against Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds, as the North West outfit seek to keep their participation in four competitions going against the Championship promotion contenders.

But whether Walker is indeed selected, or Guardiola rotates his squad with fixtures coming thick and fast in the next few weeks, very much remains to be seen.
Landlord’s verdict: Manchester City defender Kyle Walker took a blow to the head in their Carabao Cup victory over Bristol City in midweek, and was subsequently replaced with five minutes of normal time remaining.
As such, there were some concerns that the England international may not be fit for Sunday’s FA Cup clash at Cardiff City, yet manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the 27-year-old is indeed ‘fit to play’.
Whether he does indeed play, or the Spaniard rotates his squad, remains to be seen, but this news is sure to come as a big boost to Guardiola and the City supporters, as Walker has been a big part of their so far incredible season.
