The London Evening Standard has one half of north London smiling here in the Football Transfer Tavern after they report that Hugo Lloris expects to be at White Hart Lane next season.
The publication seems to think that despite rumours to the contrary, Tottenham Hotspur number one Lloris is not in line for a move, with the player himself moving to reassure fans that he will be there for one more season at least.
Lloris himself was asked about if he would be at the club come pre-season and noted: ‘I should be.’
He also added that: ‘I don’t want to talk about my future right now,’ which we think is understandable given France’s exit from the World Cup.
There had been rumours that Paris Saint Germain were keen on the Les Bleus number one, but after being linked with Petr Cech and finding Spurs unwilling to sell Lloris, it seems that for now at least, things will remain the same at Spurs next season.
One of our punters reaches over for his next pint and notes that the Lilywhites had also been linked with Swansea star Michel Vorm, and we did wonder if that signalled the club were preparing for life without Lloris, however that does not seem to be the case.
Spurs fans. Do you think you need to keep Lloris or is now the time to cash in on the keeper and bring Vorm in? Let us know your thoughts below.
