The Hull City fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports regarding their vacant managerial position.
According to a report in The Express the hierarchy at the newly promoted Premier League side have made former Everton manager Roberto Martinez their number one choice to replace Steve Bruce.
Bruce sensationally walked out on the club last week following the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market so far this summer.
Martinez is believed to be ready to return to management following his sacking at Everton at the back end of last season, but it remains to be seen whether or not he would be willing to work with Hull’s controversial owner having previously been very choosy about who he works for.
The squad are currently being led by Mike Phelan who was given the role on a caretaker basis following Bruce’s decision to leave the club and he has also made it clear that he would like the job on a permanent basis.
Would Martinez be able to keep Hull up? Is his style too dangerous considering their squad? Let us know below…
