Hull City to splash £12m Long fee on three more players?

Shane LongFootball Transfer Tavern regulars could not believe their eyes when they saw Southampton sign striker Shane Long for £12 million.

There is no doubting that the Republic of Ireland international has some ability but there are doubts as to whether he has £12 million worth of it!

Hull City fans will be disappointed that they have lost their main striker but should understand that the offer was just far too big to turn down.

Now, according to talkSPORT, Tigers manager Steve Bruce has come out and confirmed that the money raised will be used in the transfer market to strengthen the squad.

“We thought the offer that came in was too good to turn down,” he said.

“We will reinvest the money into the squad and I think the squad will be better for it.

“I would still like at least another three players to come through the doors and with the money we have got for Shane that allows me to do that, so we will be active over the next few weeks.”

Hull City fans. Was your club right to flog Long for that price or should they have kept hold of him whatever happened? Let us know your thoughts below.
