Hull increase bid for Blackburn striker

Jordan RhodesFor a few seasons now the fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have wondered whether Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes could cut it in the big time.

And it seems that we could be getting ever closer to finding out as according to the Daily Mail Hull City have upped their bid as they try to land the Scotsman.

The Tigers original offer of £8 million plus add-ons was rejected as the Championship outfit hold out for the £14 million they want for the 24-year old.

Rhodes only signed a new long-term contract back in July so the owners at Ewood Park will be in no rush to sell – especially as they saw Ross McCormack move for a whopping £11 million just weeks ago.

The Scottish international has scored 53 goals in 99 games since move from Huddersfield Town in 2012 and Hull manager Steve Bruce sees him as the perfect replacement for Shane Long.
