West Bromwich Albion finally picked up a Premier League victory at home to Brighton and Hove Albion yesterday, ending a dismal run of 20 games without a win. It was Alan Pardew’s first triumph since taking over from Tony Pulis as manager.
Jonny Evans – who has been linked with a move to Arsenal or Manchester City – gave the home side a very early lead, nodding home when unmarked at a corner. And ten minutes into the second half, West Brom doubled their lead. Craig Dawson headed in powerfully from a corner to give the Baggies a cushion against newly promoted Brighton.
West Brom held on for victory but still remain in the relegation zone. They are now just two points behind Southampton and Bournemouth in their quest for safety.
Nonetheless, West Brom were incredibly relieved to finally pick up three points. It had been a long time coming and here are the best tweets from a relieved bunch of fans on Twitter.
No coincidence Livermore & Kanu don't start and we win
