‘I can’t even imagine this’ – Everton fans left baffled by recent news

Everton supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been bemoaning their side’s recent woeful run of form, which has seen the club fall into the Premier League’s bottom three.

Ronald Koeman’s men beat Stoke City 1-0 on the opening day of the campaign but have since then failed to register a league win, drawing away at Manchester City before going down to Chelsea, Tottenham, and most recently Manchester United.

That 4-0 defeat to Jose Mourinho’s men was their fourth successive loss in all competitions, having lost out to Atalanta in the Europa League as well, and it has culminated in the pressure somewhat building on manager Koeman ahead of tonight’s clash with Sunderland in the Carabao Cup.

The 30-year-old bagged a remarkable 49 goals in just 50 games last season for the French giants, but was involved in a spat with teammate Neymar over who should take a penalty in their 2-0 victory over Lyon on Sunday.

And that episode has reportedly attracted the interest of Koeman’s Toffees, which is news that has stimulated quite a response from several Evertonians on Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that they would be stunned a move did indeed materialise…
