‘I don’t like this’ – Man City fans are all saying the same thing about Phil Foden on Twitter

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted to see Phil Foden break into the first-team last season with a handful of cameo appearances, and they are hoping he will continue his development at the Etihad Stadium next season.

The Stockport-born World Cup winner has established quite the reputation in English football during the past 12 months in a whirlwind year for Guardiola’s prodigy, and it appears his development has caught the eye of the former City boss Manuel Pellegrini who was appointed to replace David Moyes as manager of West Ham United on Tuesday morning.

According to the Daily Mirror, Pellegrini could be set to make an enquiry into Foden’s availability this summer as the Chilean manager lines up a potential loan deal.

In response to the news, the Man City supporters swiftly dismissed reports and claimed that it’s too early in Foden’s career for him to complete a loan move to a Premier League club.

Considering Foden can train alongside some of the most talented midfielders in European football at Man City, such as Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Leroy Sane, it’s easy to understand why the supporters have taken that particular stance.

With no guarantee of first-team football at the Hammers, it certainly appears a step too soon for Foden who is set to turn 18-years-old at the end of the month.

Naturally, there are a handful of supporters who believe a move to West Ham will bolster Foden’s development, but the vast majority have taken to Twitter to voice their displeasure at the recent reports.

Here’s what the Man City fans have had to say in response to Foden’s links to West Ham on Twitter…
