The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed, frustrated and annoyed at the final whistle last night as they lost comprehensively to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley. The Toffees set up quite defensively from the start and were torn apart by a free flowing Spurs side, who picked up the three points in style with a 4-0 victory.
Son Heung Min opened the scoring, sweeping home Serge Aurier’s cross. Then Harry Kane notched a double to move ahead of Teddy Sheringham and become Tottenham’s highest ever goal scorer in the Premier League by taking his tally up to 98. Christian Eriksen finished off the rout by providing the final touch to a wonderful passing move which culminated in Dele Alli’s backheel to an unmarked Eriksen, who found the bottom corner.
Everton fans took to Twitter to share their views on this display with many noting that the only positive was debutant Cenk Tosun’s performance. Here are a selection of the best tweets from after the match.

I feel sorry for Tosun more than anything, plays his first game and we lose 4-0. The poor guy bet he’s questioning why he came to us if we carry on performing like that, Jesus Christ
