West Ham supporters have been drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern in the last few days after seeing their team go down 3-1 to fellow Premier League strugglers Brighton on Saturday, thus bringing to an end their six-match unbeaten league run.
David Moyes’ men went into their clash with the Seagulls having won two and drawn the other four of their preceding six league games, a run which put some distance between themselves and the division’s bottom three. Yet the Hammers were comfortably second-best at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday afternoon as goals from Glenn Murray, Jose Izquierdo, and Pascal Gross sealed a vital victory for Chris Hughton’s side, with Javier Hernandez’s effort all the East London outfit had to shout about on a disappointing day on the South Coast.
Subsequently, there have been many frustrated and angry West Ham fans in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are trying to forget about Saturday and instead focus their efforts on this weekend’s crucial clash with Watford at the London Stadium.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Hammers supporters to discuss, not least recent reports suggesting that manager Moyes is ‘unlikely’ to be in charge of the club next season.
The 54-year-old replaced the sacked Slaven Bilic back in November and has since led the club to four wins and six draws in 15 league matches, thus moving them out of the bottom three and up to 12th place in the Premier League.
Nonetheless, the former Everton and Manchester United chief is reportedly ‘unlikely’ to remain at the helm beyond the summer, in news which has stimulated quite a reaction from West Ham fans on Twitter.
And it’s fair to say that they are far from happy with the board for allowing such speculation to arise in the middle of a relegation battle…
Fans are well and truly behind the manager currently. Feel for him as once again the board have thrown staff and players under the bus. #BoardOut

Perfect motivation for Moyes to succeed I give up with this club.

Club is a disgrace. We jolt lower every single day.

Sorry but why is news of David Moyes of not remaining in charge after this season coming out now when we’re still in a relegation battle. I bet it’s to take the spotlight off Sullivan.

That’s predictable, would explain the lack of backing in the market. The way we are run is worse than a pub side. I think Moyes has done a decent job in fairness, not attractive to watch but the lack of options has been showing up after Lanzini/ Arnautovic both being injured.

The way this club is run who in there right mind would wanna manage us

Madness, he’s done a decent job consider the owners he’s working for.

Madness, the fans have got behind him now & we know he’s doing a great job with the players he has. Injuries have been at the heart clubs recent performances. It will not change until owners invest in players. I’d like him to stay & think it would be a great mistake if he left.
