Ibrahimovic: I came to Man Utd to prove the critics wrong

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted when Zlatan Ibrahimovic made the move to the Premier League…

Undoubtedly one of Europe’s finest forwards, Ibrahimovic was dominant in the French top division whilst turning out for PSG over the last few years – but he decided it was time for a change of pace over the summer.

After months of speculation in the Transfer Tavern, Ibrahimovic ended up in Manchester – under the managership of Jose Mourinho – and the Swede has been on fire ever since.

He has scored 13 goals already in the Premier League, and whilst that tally is not on par with his record in previous years – it remains very impressive for a striker that has only just moved to the Premier League.

Now, several months after joining – the Swede has finally revealed what made him move to the Premier League over any other division.

Speaking to Sky Sports, when questioned on why he made the move he said: “Because after many years of talks like: ‘He can never make it in the Premier, he can never make it there’… and when they felt it was most difficult for me, I chose to come”.

He continued: “I don’t like the easy task…at the age of 35, people said it would be impossible but I am doing what I am able to do.

He also touched on his decision to join Man Utd in particular, noting: “If I can finish the task to bring them to the top, I will be more than happy”.

There’s a lot of information to digest from Zlatan there – all of it very important. Our landlord found it particularly interesting that he chose the Premier League due to his critics, as many in the Tavern weren’t sure he could do it in England. Somehow, those critics aren’t found in the Transfer Tavern anymore…

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted that he’s started the season well, and if he can help Man Utd get back to the top – they will be as happy as the man himself.
