If £22.5m-rated wing wizard was Liverpool’s next signing, they’d get even better next season

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling optimistic for next season after securing Champions League football.

Jurgen Klopp welcomed the Seagulls to Anfield on Sunday with the Reds only needing a point to guarantee a top-four finish in the Premier League. Failure to beat Chris Houghton’s side would have given Chelsea to chance to overtake them, though the final day threw up no major surprises,

Still, looking ahead to next year, it’s obvious that a lack of squad depth has been Liverpool’s downfall as the season comes to a close with injuries to Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Joe Gomez taking a considerable toll. Klopp has already highlighted that more faces are needed in the summer with Naby Keita’s arrival already confirmed. In attack, the Reds are in desperate need of recruits, despite their formidable forward trident.

Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings have managed just two goals between them this season with both Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge out on loan with uncertain futures at the club. Without the trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah – Liverpool look flat.

To solve their problem, the Reds should target Crystal Palace winger – Wilfried Zaha. The Ivorian winger has recently named Premier League player of the month for April and is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt. The ex-United winger has scored nine goals and notched five assists in 28 games this season for the Eagles.

Zaha can play right across the forward line making him an invaluable asset for Klopp when he looks to rotate his squad. A quick, tricky winger with an eye for goal, only Eden Hazard has completed more take-ons than Zaha this season, according to Squawka.

Despite being a former Manchester United player, Zaha could follow in the footsteps of Salah and prove his former club wrong for letting him leave.
