After a reasonably successful pre-season which has seen the Gunners beat PSG and Chelsea while losing to Atletico Madrid on penalties, Arsenal go into the season on a wave of positivity.

To go with their successful pre-season performances, the Gunners have also reinvested into the squad very well. Arsenal's new transfer team who were installed in parts over last season have managed to address the weaknesses in goal, defence and in midfield.

While the Arsenal could do with another winger, it's not essential and should only be a priority if someone leaves.

Speaking of departures, both Aaron Ramsey and Shkodran Mustafi, have been linked with moves away and according to Turkish newspaper, Fanatik (via Turkish Football), Arsenal have placed a £22 million asking price on the German defender. Mustafi has attracted interested from Galatasaray who want to bring him in on loan.

The Breakdown

After a good start to his Arsenal career, Mustafi's performances have gradually declined. In combination with Koscielny, Arsenal seemingly had a solid defensive partnership but unfortunately, the German international has failed to develop his game.

Constantly rushing forward to try and nick intercept the ball, Mustafi has begun to be exposed regularly. If that wasn't bad enough, even in simple situations he constantly makes mistakes.

Calum Chambers looks a different player under Emery, while Arsenal also brought in Sokratis this summer, meaning that there's less reliance on Mustafi.

While Arsenal should sell the German, there's no pressure to do so. If they can get a good deal for him, it's one they should take but if the Turkish club only offer a loan deal, Arsenal should reject it.
