After over two decades with Arsene Wenger at the helm of the club, Unai Emery was always going to have a tough task on his hand to change a team that had got used to playing in the same way for so many years.

Straight away Arsenal were handed two tough fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City and initially, it looked as though it was going to be a much tougher job than first expected.

Following their two opening losses, Arsenal managed to get back on track with three successive wins and going forward, look much sharper than they did last year. At the back, however, Arsenal still struggle to keep clean sheets and have already conceded nine goals this year.

According to the Mirror Manchester United defender, Eric Bailly is ready to leave Man U and is a target for both Spurs and Arsenal. If Arsenal do bring in the Man U man, here are two players the Gunners should get rid of.

Shkodran Mustafi

Now in his third season with Arsenal, Mustafi still hasn't turned into the defender the club thought they were signing.

A front foot defender who likes to try and nick the ball and pressure the attacker, Mustafi is often caught out. Such has been his proneness to try and press the ball that he often leaves himself exposed, which at times has cost the Gunners. This season there has been a slight improvement in his performances but overall the German international still hasn't shown himself to be the top class defender Arsenal need.

Bailly's poor fitness record is still a worry but when he plays, he is a more reliable defender than Mustafi.

Laurent Koscielny

One of the best signing the club has ever made, since his arrival from Lorient, Laurent Koscielny has bee one of the most underrated defenders in Europe over the last eight years.

However, after consistent achilles problems and now 33, Koscielny's better years are now behind him.

Recently it was reported that the French international considered leaving Arsenal with Wenger. His achilles injury put an end to that possible transfer but considering his age and his recent fitness struggles, it might be time to put an end to what has been a great Arsenal career.
