Burnley fans in the Transfer Tavern are buzzing after the Claret secured European football at Turf Moor next season after securing a seventh-place finish in the Premier League.
The Clarets meteoric rise up the Premier League table has been great to watch and our punters are delighted they will watch their side in Europe next year. Sean Dyche’s side will be playing in the Europa League next season if they can navigate some tricky away trips in the qualifying rounds. The struggles of balancing European football and domestic performance has proved to be an issue for smaller sides in the past, which Dyche will be aware of.
Burnley will need to add squad depth if they are to maintain their performances in the Premier League and domestic cups. Indeed, rotation will be key if they are to keep their first-team players rested. Adding a new forward will also be a priority for the Englishman.
Dyche would be smart to make a move for Bournemouth forward – Joshua King – following his latest comments in a Norwegian newspaper. The striker admitted he was unhappy to play in a deeper role which has plunged his future into doubt. With that in mind, those at Turf Moor should take advantage and make a bid for the 26-year-old.
Valued at £9m by Transfermarkt, King can play as the number nine or on the wing making him an invaluable option for the Clarets. He netted eight goals in 33 Premier League appearances for the Cherries last season and also notched three assists. The former Manchester United man failed to hit the heights of the 16/17 season where he bagged 16 goals.
A change of scenery could be just what he needs to rediscover his best form.
