Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are keen to learn who is going to replace the outgoing Arsene Wenger in the summer after he leaves the Gunners after 22 years in charge.
A lot of managers have unsurprisingly been linked with the job at the Emirates, however, none come more surprising than Jurgen Klopp’s understudy of 17 years Zeljko Buvac. Sven Mislintat is surely the driving force behind any potential move for Buvac and he is to be believed that a three-man structure incorporating himself, Buvac as head coach and Arsenal’s head of football relations Raul Sanllehi, is the best avenue for the club to go down for the future.
With the possible incoming manager currently on leave from Anfield, it’s only intensifying the rumour mill among our regulars in the bar.
Indeed the new manager at the club will give everyone at the club that new manager bounce that Emirates haven’t seen since the 90’s, although some players may have to impress more than others and our landlord believes that this player in particular needs to up his game, throughout the summer months…
OUR VERDICT – Granit Xhaka
The defensive midfielder has certainly not lived up to expectations at the Emirates, with many of the fans in the bar becoming frustrated with him over the years. There’s a firm belief in the Tavern that Xhaka costs the Gunners more points than he gains them over the course of a season.
Arsenal are in desperate need of a quality defensive midfielder and Xhaka could be the key to that, but he seriously needs to up his overall game and start becoming consistent, week in, week out.
