According to the Mirror, PSG are refusing to give up on signing N’Golo Kante and have made the midfielder their top target for the summer.

Reportedly, Chelsea have offered to make the Frenchman their highest paid player ever, but PSG still have the financial might to offer the World Cup winner even greater terms.

If the 27-year-old does decide he would like to return to his home country, then their is little the Blues may be able to do to stop him. Whilst Maurizio Sarri would undoubtedly prefer to keep Kante at Stamford Bridge, he may have to countenance sourcing a replacement for him during this transfer window.

In case the eventuality of a Kante exit comes to pass, Sarri will already have a list of targets drawn up. It would be smart of him to include these two on his wish list.

The 22-year-old German international has been a pillar of consistency at the heart of the Borussia Dortmund midfield for the past 3 seasons.

The maturity and discipline that have shown in his game from such an early age have marked him out as an extraordinarily talented defensive midfielder with a bright future ahead of him.

Weigl would be a long term option for replacing Kante, and isn’t quite of the France international’s standard yet, but certainly has the ability to get there.

The replacement for N’Golo Kante at Leicester could become the replacement for N’Golo Kante at Chelsea.

The Nigerian joined the Foxes to fill the huge void left by the diminutive Kante, and has since risen to the task admirably.

Ndidi combines pace and power with defensive awareness to constantly provide a shield for his back four. In doing so, he has proven that he can perform to such a high standard in the Premier League.

At only 21-years-old, Ndidi would be another signing made as much for the future as for the present, but he is more than capable of performing well for Chelsea already.
