Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to entertaining their local rivals Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tonight.
Antonio Conte’s side just about pushed through to the semis with a last-gasp winner courtesy of Alvaro Morata against Bournemouth in the previous tie. Although our regulars will be hoping for a much easier progression this time around over the two legs as the Italian looks to deliver his second trophy to Stamford Bridge.
Indeed, the Blues boss is in need of adding some strength in depth into his squad this January, but he could use this first leg as an opportunity to blood some youngsters into the fold. Wenger has made a reputation of doing just that in this cup over previous seasons, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Italian to follow suit.
