Arsenal

If he can adapt to a new position then this Arsenal player would fit in well at Chelsea

The Chelsea fans are in the Transfer Tavern today and this potential arrival at their club is causing quite the split in opinion.

Reports from the Express have revealed that Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte believes he can turn wantaway Arsenal star, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into a world-class right wing-back.

The contract rebel has just one year remaining on his current deal and after a lack of first-team football during his time at the club, isn’t looking like signing a new deal.

Our landlord thinks that if Oxlade-Chamberlain is used as a right wing-back and can be moulded into that position then this would be a fantastic move for him.

If he makes the transfer and fails to adapt to the new role, he won’t be getting into the Chelsea first-team as a winger.

Not with Hazard, Pedro and Willian all ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Arsenal man played as a wing back towards the tail end of last season and didn’t look out of place there at all, so there are some positive signs that Conte would have something to work with.

With the money Chelsea have, £25 million is worth a punt.

Worst case scenario is they sell him on next season at a loss of about £10 million.

Best case scenario is they create one of Europe’s most dominating wing-backs that could be utilised excellently in Conte’s three back formation.
