Premier League

If Huddersfield sign this 30-year-old, they’ll do their survival hopes a world of good

Our Huddersfield fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for their side to get going in the Premier League as it’s been such a long time since they were in the top flight.

Indeed, the men from Yorkshire have not been in it since the Premier League re-brand but as former Division 1 champions they know they have decent history behind them going into it.

That, though, will not serve them much use this coming season and so manager David Wagner needs to try and sign some players to help them out for the new campaign.

Indeed, we think that a new goalkeeper is high on his agenda and with efforts to get Danny Ward in again from Liverpool so far falling short, we think it might be time to switch targets.

Indeed, with that in mind we think it’s time for Huddersfield to get after John Ruddy who is currently a free agent after being surprisingly released by Norwich.

The goalkeeper, though, has got plenty of talent and experience to offer the right club and despite being let go by a Championship side he does have the ability to play in the Premier League.

Indeed, he always looked at home in the top flight for the Canaries and that kind of experience between the sticks could prove vital in the club’s quest to stay up.

Time, though, will ultimately tell if Wagner and co. have the same thought process.
