The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are discussing who the club looking at bringing in to reinforce further in the summer, and the latest link to the club will surely excite everyone concerned with the club.
Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey has impressed enough this season in the Bundesliga to be linked with a move to the Etihad according to reports, and the Jamaican is one of the hottest properties around at the moment.
City are keen on PSG loanee Kylian Mbappe if the chance comes available to sign the forward, however, the top chiefs within the club are supposed to have a two-man ‘non-Mbappe’ forward list – which Bailey tops. The youngster has 10 goals and six assists so far in this campaign, and the 20-year-old seems to have a bright future ahead of him in the game, and all our regulars agree.
However, with the potential arrival of Bailey, there would undoubtedly be outgoings at the club. It’ll upset the apple cart somewhat but our landlord believes that this one player will leave the Etihad this summer if another striker is brought in to the club…
OUR VERDICT – Sergio Aguero
The Argentine is, without doubt, one of City’s greatest ever strikers and has been there since the start of this amazing journey. However, following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, Aguero was benched and many started to feel like his days were numbered, but he did fight back to regain his place.
Maybe another striker coming in would be the final straw for the record scorer and see him move on to play regular first-team football in another league.
