Arsenal

If this potent attacker started for Arsenal every week, Wenger’s team would be far more deadly – agreed?

Though the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been impressed with the decent form of their side in recent weeks, they are hoping to see Arsene Wenger make a few changes over the coming weeks. A few of Arsenal’s regular starters are struggling to perform, whilst a few fringe players have been making a significant impact.

It would make sense, then, to change things up slightly, particularly over the festive period, and one player that certainly deserves more of a chance over the coming few weeks is Danny Welbeck.

The Englishman has had an injury-torn spell at the Emirates, but whenever he has been fit, he has looked good. He’s on a decent run of solid fitness at present, and so it would make sense for Arsenal to take advantage of that. He’s rarely been able to play for more than a few months consistently, but he looks as ready as ever at present.

His fitness has been reflected by a flurry of solid performances in recent weeks. Offering decent pace, fantastic technical ability, and goals, the Englishman has often been a matchwinner for the Gunners this season. He picked up the goal that saw Arsenal progress into the next round of the Carabao Cup last Tuesday, and that’s a testament to his match-winning capabilities. He differs from many of Arsenal’s other options in the attack, in that he’s a very hard worker. Often tracking back and helping out defensively, that’s an invaluable trait in a league that is always competitive.

When you throw in the fact that Alexis Sanchez, in particular, is really struggling, it becomes pretty obvious that Danny Welbeck should be getting a chance. Offensively, the Gunners haven’t been particularly potent this season, but with Welbeck in the side, they would be far more efficient – agreed?
