Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that they can resist the lure of Barcelona and keep one of their hottest properties with the youth academy.
The Spanish champions are looking to sign the teenage goal machine Reo Griffiths when he turns 18 on June 27. Our regulars know him as being one of the hottest talents within the Academy, hotshot Griffiths has been labelled as the next Harry Kane after some outrageous goal-scoring exploits this season.
This season alone he has managed to bag himself 34 goals which has caught the attention of Barca, and their interest grew recently when Griffiths scored four and made three in a 9-0 thrashing of Arsenal. That followed numerous goals in high stake matches against their London rivals in the league and cup, much to the delight to the punters in the darts team.
He has reportedly decided not to commit to the Catalans and Spurs are said to be close to an agreement to sign him, however, a move to Spain at such a young age would surely turn the youngsters head and the thought of walking out at the Camp Nou, would be the stuff of dreams.
Indeed, if Spurs were to lose Griffiths, then our landlord feels that they should then go in full pursuit of this £40.5m (rated by Transfermarkt) wonderkid…
OUR VERDICT – CHRISTIAN PULISIC
The young American is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga at present and is surely on many of the top clubs in Europe watch list after an absolutely meteoric rise in recent years.
Not only is the winger a talent and would bring a little something different to the team, he’s a dream for the Daniel Levy and the board in their attempts to greater promote the Spurs brand with a move to the new stadium, such is the hysteria that surrounds him in his home country of America.
Pulisic is young and hungry, indeed, with Spurs’ need for width, he could fit right in.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
