The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern definitely think so…
Chelsea have enjoyed a fantastic start to the 2016/17 season, with Antonio Conte’s men sitting comfortable at the top of the Premier League.
The Italian has led the Blues superbly, with yet another win coming over the weekend courtesy of Diego Costa against West Brom.
Chelsea’s start has been simply incredible, and the turnaround following defeat at Arsenal and Liverpool has been astounding. But will the Blues’ rip-roaring start inevitably lead to Premier League glory?
Well, according to Oliver Todd of the Daily Mail on Twitter, the signs are definitely good for Antonio Conte.
He says that Chelsea’s impressive run of form is the most impressive start to the season in a while – with Chelsea’s points tally higher at this stage than any season in the past 5 years.
See that Tweet below…
Premier League leaders Chelsea have more points at this stage than any other team in the last five seasons after 15 games.

This stat certainly suggests that Chelsea look bound for glory this season, but does their success at this stage hold any weight long-term?
It would appear so, as Leicester City stood at the top at this time last season – and we all know what happened there. Beyond that, Chelsea were top of the table at this point in the 2014/15 season, and the Blues went on to win the league in that year.
In the 2013/14 season, Man City were 4th at this point and went on to win the league which breaks the mould, but Man Utd returned to the model in the 2012/13 season – and sat at the top of the pile after 15 games.
Whilst it is not guaranteed, the team that is at the top of the table after 15 games has, over the last few years, more often than not gone on to win the Premier League – and that definitely bodes well for the Blues.
