The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are loving life with Jose Mourinho as manager…

After several years in the wilderness following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, Mourinho has finally brought a bit of certainty back to proceedings at Old Trafford.

After a slow start to life in Manchester, the Portuguese boss has really turned things around. Now, Man Utd are still a long way off from forcing a Premier League title challenge this season, but there can be no denying that they are a club on the up.

One key component of Man Utd has always been the importance of Old Trafford, and that has worn off in recent years. No longer a fortress, Old Trafford rarely strikes fear into teams as it used to – but is that something that is changing under Jose Mourinho?

The stats would certainly seem to indicate that, with Squwaka noting that Man Utd are now unbeaten at Old Trafford for 20 games in all competitions.

What a remarkable turnaround from Jose Mourinho.

What is perhaps as impressive as the record itself is the number of goals scored. Often touted as a boring manager by those in the Tavern, Man Utd have averaged over 2 goals a game in that tenure – which is a very good turnaround.
