The Leicester City fans are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening and discussing reports that one of their players could be set for his first international call up.
The Leicester Mercury is reporting that midfielder N’Golo Kante is set to be called up to the French squad for their forthcoming friendlies against Holland and Russia respectively.
Kante has been a star performer for Leicester City so far this season and has earnt rave reviews for his performances as part of a Leicester side which currently tops the Premier League table.
Speaking about the possibility of Kante being called up to the French national side, coach Didier Deschamps said:
“We’re following him. At Caen he was putting in some good performances. Leicester are having a surprising season and he’s performing very well. There are experienced players [in the France squad] and it’s up to them to continue to perform well.”
“If at some point I think that there is a player who can bring something more compared to another who’s already there, I’ll select him.”
The Leicester fans in The Tavern are delighted that Kante could be recognised by his country in the coming days and look forward to seeing him play at the highest level possible after some impressive performances for their club.
