Punters in the Football Transfer Tavern are wondering if West Ham will ever get the message, after the latest claim involving Romelu Lukaku in the Metro.
The publication seems to think that for the second successive year in a row, the Chelsea forward has turned down the chance of a move to Upton Park and will hold out for either a chance at Chelsea or a move to what he deems to be a better club.
Lukaku impressed most people and indeed managers last season during his loan spell at Everton, in which he fired 14 Premier League goals.
But it seems that was not enough to impress the one person who mattered – Jose Mourinho – with the Chelsea boss still reportedly keen on cashing in on the Belgian forward.
That will not be to neighbours West Ham however, who clearly decided that parking the bus was not enough, they wanted to invest in a tank instead.
That will not be the case and as one of our punters quips, we doubt that the Hammers will even be able to afford the forward should he perform for Belgium at the World Cup.
