Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for changes, especially giving last night’s embarrassing defeat to FC Midjtyyland, and their pleased by reports that continue to link them to a world-class boss.
Jose Mourinho is the bookies favourite to take over from Louis Van Gaal and Italian outlet Courriere Dello Sport have stated he’s identified his first transfer target for the summer window, in the form of Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi.
The 22-year-old Argentine, who captains the Italian giants, has consistently been linked with an exit from the San Siro and it seems likely that a deal will go ahead this summer, although United will face vast competition for the young forward’s signature.
With an attack potentially including Icardi alongside Anthony Martial at Old Trafford, United would have a forward line that can strike fear into defenders for years to come and Icardi fits in perfectly with United’s plans.
Our landlord feels the lack of Champions League football could prove to be United’s downfall though, as he believes Icardi will want to test himself in Europe’s elite competition.
United fans, is Icardi the ideal summer target? Let us know in the comments below!
