Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased with the progression their side has made in the second-half of the season but the lads are flicking peanuts whilst discussing the plans for next season, despite their being months left before the summer.
With Antonio Conte widely-reported to be taking charge of the Blues after this summer’s European Championships in France, where the former Juventus boss will lead the Italian national team, he’s already eyeing transfers for his new side.
The Sun states Conte is desperate to win the race for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, who is set to be offloaded by the French giants at the end of the season as they plot a forward overhaul that will also see Zlatan Ibrahimovic leave.
Cavani is widely-linked with a move to the Premier League this summer but Chelsea face interest in his services, with new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said to be keen on bringing the forward to the Etihad.
Our landlord feels Cavani, who had forward opportunities limited with PSG, would prefer a role at Chelsea as there’s no way he would dislodge Sergio Aguero from a forward position.
Chelsea fans, would Cavani be a decent signing? Let us know in the comments below!
