Incoming Chelsea boss wants to secure deal for world class striker, player keen on move if guaranteed regular football

Gonzalo HiguainOur regular Chelsea supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern have not been very happy with their team’s form on the pitch and are already casting their attentions towards the next campaign.

The Blues have relinquished their stranglehold on the Premier League title with a whimper and Italian boss Antonio Conte will have it all to do when he arrives during the summer, following Euro 2016.

One of the die-hard Chelsea brigade has spotted some positive news in today’s Daily Mail however, with the reports suggesting that Conte wants to sign Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain this summer in a sensational £42 million swoop.

The report claims that Conte wants to sign the Argentinean striker and the player himself wants to switch to Stamford Bridge, as long as the boss can promise him regular games and not use him as backup to Diego Costa.

One Chelsea fan is dancing on the tables at the thought of Higuain and he thinks that the striker would instantly make the Blues title contenders once again.

Chelsea fans, would you welcome Higuain to the club? Just how big of a signing would he be? Can you lure him without European football?
