Incoming Man Utd boss orders sale of two first-team midfielders

mataManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have surrounded the bar in the past few days, with things getting extremely busy with speculation that a new first-team boss is set to be appointment.

The man looking set to replace Louis Van Gaal is none other than Jose Mourinho, who’s already planning a shake-up to the first-team squad at Old Trafford.

The Daily Mail state Mourinho has ordered the board to sell Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata, the latter of whom he sold to the Red Devils whilst in charge of Chelsea.

United midfielder pairing Fellaini and Mata, who cost the Red Devils a combined total of £64m, are not deemed to be worthy of a spot in Mourinho’s new look United side. Whilst the sale of Fellaini is no surprise, some will be upset to see Mata offloaded.

Mata does not fit in to Mourinho’s plans, despite the Spanish international enjoying fine form since making the move to the North West in January 2014.

Our landlord believes this will just be the first of many changes prepared by Mourinho, ahead of what he thinks will be an exceptionally busy summer.

United fans, is offloading Fellaini and Mata a good decision? Let us know in the comments below!
