Liverpool lost out once more to a team in and around the top four yesterday, as they fell to a defeat at rivals Manchester United.
The loss was a bitter blow to Jurgen Klopp and his side, who were looking to reel in United and snatch second spot from them, with Manchester rivals City having almost certainly wrapped up the Premier League title.
This summer will see the Reds sign midfielder Naby Keita in a big money move, and Klopp will no doubt be assessing his squad and looking to move on players as well as bring in new faces who can help push his side to the next level.
This summer will be an interesting one for a number of players at the club, not least the forward pairing of Dominic Solanke and Danny Ings, who are both seemingly bit part players at Anfield.
Solanke, who only signed last summer and has youth on his side, has seen his progress stall after a positive start to the campaign, while Ings has finally returned from injury but appears to be lacking any sort of first team chances thus far.
Both players have plenty of ability and can no doubt have a Premier League career ahead of them, but whether they are good enough to make it at a top four aspiration club like Liverpool is another matter.
One can only assume that the Reds will make a move for a big name in the summer to further compliment their already lethal attacking players, and it could well mean one of Ings or Solanke is shown the door by Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Would you let one of these go? Let us know in the comments!
