Initial enquires made as Arsenal draw up summer shortlist

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are preparing themselves for a very busy summer…

Not only are the Gunners in need of reinforcement on the pitch, but the continued speculation in the Transfer Tavern surrounding the future of manager Arsene Wenger is quickly reaching fever pitch.

The Frenchman’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and with no renewal seemingly on the horizon at present – the time to plan for the future is now.

The Arsenal brass are, seemingly, in agreement with that sentiment too, with the Mirror reporting that they have drawn up a FOUR man shortlist of potential replacements – should Wenger move on.

The names reportedly include Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel, Juventus’ Max Allegri, Bayer Leverkusen’s Roger Schmidt and Monaco’s Leonardo Jardim.

Whilst there is still a chance that Wenger could stay, the Mirror do note that initial enquires have been made into the suitability of Tuchel – with the Bundesliga boss seemingly the name on the lips of the Arsenal brass.

For the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, the time for change is now – and whilst Arsene Wenger’s reign has brought with it a huge amount of success – many in the Transfer Tavern think that it is now time to move on.

In what could be Wenger’s final season in charge, the Frenchman has done very little to suggest that his side are improving – with the Gunners now 12 points off the pace in the Premier League.

Add to this the continual speculation over the futures of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere – and whichever manager is leading the Gunners at the end of the season is likely to have a tough job on his hands.
