West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been left feeling extremely worried after reports circulating the bar area have suggested that one of their strikers could be out for the rest of the season.
According to an article from The Sun, Hammers striker Diafra Sakho could see his own Premier League campaign ended prematurely after it emerged a torn thigh muscle could leave him sidelined for the rest of the season.
The frontman limped off midway through the second half of West Ham’s 1-1 draw with West Brom on Sunday and the club fear that the damage to the thigh muscle might force him out of action as the full scale of the injury emerges.
“It is very very bad. He could be out for six months.”
The injury is considered to be so painful that medical staff have not yet been able to perform a scan on the muscle to assess the full extent of the damage.
Sakho’s injury is another massive setback for Hammers boss Slaven Bilic, who already has Dimitri Payet and Enner Valencia both unavailable over the busy Christmas period, leaving only Andy Carroll to lead the line.
