Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern hoping to bolster their attacking lines this summer have received a major setback, after a top target of theirs suffered a major injury blow.
The Daily Express cite reports from France that indicate 22-year-old Lille winger Sofiane Boufal could be sidelined until the start of next season after suffering an injury 26 minutes into the French side’s game with Lorient on Saturday.
Boufal, who has been heavily tipped with a move to the Premier League this summer, is a top-target for Arsenal, whilst there’s also interest from a number of other English sides.
However, with Boufal potentially being sidelined for as long as six months, and the most optimistic outlook putting the youngster out of action until August, interested parties may elect to snub a move this window and wait to see how the winger will recover.
It’s a major blow though as Lille previously conceded they’d find it difficult to fend off Premier League interest in their main-man, so our landlord believed they’d be open to a sale.
Arsenal fans, should you still be targeting a winger this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
