Injury crisis should prompt West Ham into wrecking Liverpool and Tottenham’s transfer plans

The West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their concern after hearing the latest injury news. Manuel Lanzini was stretchered off against Bournemouth last weekend and he will be out injured for several weeks while Marko Arnautovic has suffered a hamstring injury as well, meaning the dominant Austrian could spend a spell on the sidelines too.

This means that David Moyes will be prompted into action this month. He needs to replace their creativity in midfield and add another attacking midfielder, especially with Michail Antonio injured too.

West Ham should rival Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool for James Maddison. The Norwich midfielder has been in impeccable form this season and he is only getting better and better as each game passes.

The 21-year-old has won Norwich’s player of the month for the last three months consecutively. Furthermore, the England under-21 international’s tally of seven goals and five assists ranks him as one of the top contributors in the Championship currently.

Maddison is more than capable of making the step up, having previously starred at League One level for Coventry City and in the Scottish Premiership with Aberdeen. The youngster takes everything in his stride and he is a very technically gifted footballer, boasting a range of passes and an eye for goal.

Moreover, Maddison is a tremendous free kick taker and he has scored many special goals in his career already. West Ham need to look into this deal as Maddison is not only one for the future but a player who would immediately improve West Ham too.
