Injury problems pile up for Man Utd ahead of Swansea City clash

This is not looking good for the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…

Manchester United fell to their 5th consecutive away European defeat yesterday, as Jose Mourinho’s men lost out to Fenerbahce 2-1 in the Europa League.

The loss was not the only result of the game, however, as in worrying news for the Man Utd fans in the Tavern – Paul Pogba also went off in the first-half after suffering an injury early on in the game.

A statement on the official Man Utd website revealed that whilst Pogba has not been officially ruled out of this weekend’s clash against Swansea City – there are concerns for his fitness.

Pogba’s injury only tells half the story, however, with the same statement confirming that several other players are set to miss out too.

Man Utd are reporting that Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Antonio Valencia are all set to miss the game through injury Рmeaning that Jose Mourinho will have a severely depleted squad to choose from at the weekend.

Add to this the confusion over the availability of Mkhitaryan and Schweinsteiger – and Mourinho is starting to look very thin on depth throughout this side.

This has worried the Man Utd fans in the Tavern – as all 3 players that are definitely out of the game are all first team starters; whilst Pogba would also fall under that banner should he be unavailable.

Our landlord thinks that the Swansea clash could be huge for Jose Mourinho Рas another loss could really put him in the firing line Рwith the Man Utd brass keen for immediate success.

The Man Utd fans in the Tavern are keeping a low profile today, with last night’s defeat at Fenerbahce the latest in a long line of poor performances from the Manchester giants.
